Wool tape, such as this Wool Twill Tape was used extensively in the 18th century on into modern times. In the 18th & 19th century it could be found on petticoat & gown hems, wallets, jackets, Regimental coats, Indigenous American and First Nation garments, bed hangings and slipcovers. Hats were bound in it and garments closed with it.
